even sided triangle with rounded corners with what looked like strip lighting covering from front to back.

Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly:

it was just hovering not moving an inch,then the lights just switched off and suddenly it was'nt there anymore.

Any additional comments:

there was a vapour trail about 5.000 ft above it which had stopped above it when the lights went out the vapour trail started moving again.
